- Today on the Gothamist Newsmap: An overturned vehicle on the Triborough Bridge, which can't be good for all those getting away for the weekend; an escaped prisoner in The Bronx; and multiple pedestrians were struck Dyckman Street & Broadway.
- Early this morning in Bed-Stuy, a police officer sitting in a marked vehicle was shot in the arm. The officer was treated and released from Kings County Hospital but the NYPD is still searching for the shooter.
- A cat rescue group was formed to trap Roosevelt Island's feral cats (there are about 100, but many die during the winter)

"Swinging live chickens over their heads." I'm all for religious tolerance of all kinds but that is pretty twisted. I mean, can't they at least settle for a rubber chicken? I don't think God will punish them for that.

My friend said the Jews do all these crazy things to fool women. They can't pass through electric doors. they can't eat pork, they have to wear funny hats. All these funny rules just too keep their women distracted from the fact that they are basically subservient slaves to the men. A woman grows up in a jewish household and sees dudes doing all these masochistic things to themselves and thinks that if a guy does all these things than he has integrity and will be loyal so she stays
