Video of the Day: Feist on Letterman

Last night Feist took the Letterman stage with a few of her friends. Nicole Atkins, A.C. Newman, Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew and members of Brooklyn bands The National and Grizzly Bear were her backup singers, taking a page from the Bright Eyes guide to stage wear and donning all white. Watch it below...

Later most of the crew made it over to Pianos for rock n' roll trivia (some helping to host) -- not surprising as a couple of them are regulars. Some of the group, still in white, even kept the singing going out on the sidewalk after the questions ran out. We told you it's fun!

Most of the above will also be performing at McCarren Park Pool tomorrow night. The show is sold out but you could likely hear it fine from a blanket just outside the venue.

Cool. Nice to see so many bands doing backup behind her. Most of them were at the benefit at the Beacon Theater on Sunday night.

you didn't mention Mates of State. Last I checked, they've been doing bag up business in these parts much longer than most of the bands you did care to mention. (I said longer, no bigger)

They are white because only white people can sing. The hell.

    1) who cares? she has a white band? that's still legal right?

    2) She's been in NY all week, did some reading/music somewhere on Sunday, Letterman last night, Brooklyn tomorrow. It just happens to be what's going on this week. She was also interview for Time Out NY, is that annoying to you too? Stop being so cranky...

    3) I have tickets to the show so I'm happy

Who Cares? You don't post videos of all he NYC bands that play Lettermen or Conan, why is Feist worthy? Perhaps this post would be ok as part of a larger Music Roundup, but I don't see how this really relates to Gotham and why Feist deserves to by singled out on a NYC-Centric blog? Save this shit for torontoist.
