Miss NJ Gives Wagner's Class of 2011 Internet Advice

Incoming freshmen at Wagner College got some advice about Facebook and other Internet do's and don't's from someone who knows firsthand about how things can go out of control when fun pictures posted on a website get into the wrong hand: Miss NJ Amy Polumbo.

Polumbo's Miss NJ crown was in jeopardy when some Facebook photographs were sent to NJ pageant officials. Eventually, the Wagner senior was allowed to keep her crown, but Polumbo appeared on the Today show to reveal the "racy" photographs and called her behavior foolish and unladylike but not as controversial as suspected.

During the discussion with freshman, Polumbo said, "I wasn't planning to become a national icon for Internet safety Now I'll always be known as the girl with the crazy college pictures." She warned that one should never post anything online that you wouldn't want people, including future employers, to see as well as to be wary of who you accept as "friends." "Your years of college will fly by quickly, but the Internet is forever."

actually - this dumb story turned out to be helpful -- i just posted it on my little sister's facebook page since she just started college today. And you see, I'm just tryin' to stay hip and relevant before she realizes how uncool her older sis really is.

You may be surprised to find that most older people can remember their own youths, and as long as you don't do anything seriously illegal, like heavy drugs or DUI, are surprisingly understanding. Youth is a time to learn from your stupidity; we all do it.

Whoa, those are some "craaa-zzzzy" college pictures! She may have retained her nj crown, but her life is essentially over as any potential "employer" who has any knowledge of these truly outrageous photos would never hire her. She might as well be a convicted felon!

which incoming 'freshman' did she give this advice to?

I think her 15 mins of beauty fame is over, there's a new girl in town.

The Miss teen USA contestant Miss South Carolina answering "why 1/5 of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a World map, why do you think this is?".

the answer is so many people out there don't have maps. then there's south africa and the iraq and the asian countries.
