MUSIC: Ever wonder what former Weezer bassist Matt Sharp has been up to? Well, he's back fronting his other old band, The Rentals. With a long list of former members, amongst them Maya Rudolph and Petra Haden, the group is now six-strong, and playing Nokia Theater tonight in support of their new EP, The Last Little Life.

Over at Sound Fix Camera Obscura will be serving a piping hot cup of twee (sorry), bringing a set of tunes to a small audience before their bigger Seaport Music Festival show tomorrow. Named after an optical device that eventually led to photography, you may want to bring your pinhole camera to catch some shots of the indie-poppers!
7pm // Sound Fix Records [110 Bedford Ave, Williamsburg] // Free
COMEDY: If you like your musicals with a little comedy edge and pretty much improvised, then I Eat Pandas is for you. Gothamist doesn't fully approve of the name, but as long as no pandas are harmed we don't see the harm. The troupe promises "fully improvised musicals on the spot - complete with dancing, dramatic glances, and original improvised songs."
8pm // UCB Theater [307 W 26th St] // $5
THEATER: Each theatrical season at The Signature Theatre Company is dedicated to a cluster of plays by a single playwright; this year’s selection is Charles Mee, the OBIE-winning downtown firebrand whose work takes inspiration and spare parts from classic texts and modern myths. (As Mee puts it: “The culture writes us, and then we write our stories.”) The season begins with Mee’s Iphigenia 2.0, a riveting re-imagining of Euripides’s spin through the Trojan War’s collateral damage, set by Mee in the current quicksand of the Middle East. Ancient theater laws dating back to the Greeks prohibit critics from opining about a play before the Official Opening Night, set for Sunday. So we can only urge in the strongest possible language to GO see this STAT, before Monday’s reviews turn Signature’s $20 tickets into high-tone Craigslist commodities. 8pm // Signature at Peter Norton Space [555 West 42nd St] // Click here or try (212) 244-PLAY (7529) for tickets, which cost just $20!
