Pencil This In

MOVIE: Bryant Park ends their summer of big screen fun with the classic horror flick Psycho - the movie that made many afraid to shower (and probably scared to check-in to hotels). Bring your best scream...and a blanket.

5pm lawn opens, movie at sundown // Bryant Park // Free

2007_08_arts_recordowl.jpgEVENT: Listen up vinylphiles, Shakey's Record Fair is tonight and will be the only place in town where you can find that rarity you so desperately need. The monthly event has invite-only rare record dealers on hand as well as deejay spinning tunes (we imagine you won't see any iPod deejaying at this one).

6pm // Botanica [47 E Houston St] // Free

COMEDY: Come bro out with Leo and Tony tonight at UCB. Their talk and variety show welcomes: Kurt Braunholer, John Oliver and Andrew W.K.! As well as music guest Sam Bisbee - which means W.K. will be there on a speaking level (and we sort of love that just as much as the rock).

8pm // UCB Theater [307 W 26th St] // $5

THEATER: Fringe entry The Rise and Fall of Miles and Milo turns a satirical eye on grant-chasing art world professionals. Wannabe art celebs Miles and Milo spend their days protesting the grant allocations of The Sunshine Foundation for the Arts, which they know to be fraudulent because the foundation hasn’t given Miles and Milo a dime – and they’re the most “brilliant, visionary, multi-media, multi-talented artists in the world!” But when the mysterious Sapphire AmEx unexpectedly delivers a truckload of money to their feet, will their creative fire be drowned by dollars? Anthony C.E. Nelson calls “this little gem of a play… a funny and searching discussion of the intersection of art and commerce.” - John Del Signore

8pm // Soho Playhouse [15 Vandam St] // Tickets cost $15

MUSIC: Our inbox has been overflowing with emails about Luke Temple. The Brooklynite is at Sound Fix tonight to perform some songs off his album Snowbeast. Later this week he's at Joe's Pub for a more formal cd release show. Listen here (beware: not your typical male voice).

8pm // Sound Fix [110 Bedford Ave, Williamsburg] // Free

And of course, today's interviewee will be hosting another Monday night of rock trivia at Pianos (8pm)!
