The New York Post details a story today of two Manhattan women who elevated a barroom incident of name-calling that got physical into lawsuit territory. The article describes how real estate agent Julie Dwyer was at Ferro's on East 50th St. in February, discussing some of the neighbors in her building and ridiculing a blonde woman who regularly walked her dogs wearing stiletto heels. She characterized the woman as "a hooker" who was "always drunk." Whether she knew it or not, the woman Dwyer was describing to her boyfriend was sitting nearby at the bar and took offense. Jennifer Nowicki is also a real estate agent, who lives in Dwyer's building and does walk her two dogs while in high heels. An ensuing confrontation between the two women resulted in the cops being called and Nowicki facing assault charges.

Months later, Nowicki is suing Dwyer for slander, but doesn't hold back in describing the woman who called her a high-heeled hooker at a bar in court papers. Those documents reportedly include statements from workers at Ferro's who describe Dwyer, in short, as a drunk slut who goes to the establishment every day, works the bar for free drinks from men, and then goes home with a different guy each night. Ouch! Nowicki also describes Dwyer as a woman suffering from mental problems, despite taking medication. This all sounds like something that Darren Star might want to incorporate into his film adaptation of Sex and the City, now that Kim Cattrall is attached to the project.
