I walk home from work 2 or 3 times a week--from Murray Hill to Morningside Heights--and those hours are some of my favorites. I walk up Fifth Avenue which is great window shopping, especially around the holidays (although closer to Christmas I modify the route because it is overrun with tourists), then along Central Park South and up Broadway. It may sound daunting but takes less than 2 hours, is very relaxing, and allows me to catch up on music listening. After sitting at a desk all day, I would definitely recommend walking home from work, even if it is a 4 mile hike!

rob riggle is going to iraq because he is a marine.

What is Rob Riggle's appeal? He must be good friends with Jon Stewart to get another job after his disastrous stint on SNL. Dude is not funny. I'm guessing he volunteered for the Iraq trip to earn some goodwill with the suits. If they try to fire him later he can always say, "Hey! I went to Iraq for you guys!"

it's the Manhattan bridge pedestrian walkway, entrance on the bowery.

In the old days, there was an entrance on Division street at Market, behind ps 124.

    Hi folks,

I took the pic earlier today from the Manhattan Bridge. Take the path on the Bowery (across the street from Duane Reade) and you'll see East Broadway to the right. Just started playing with a new camera this weekend, so feel free to add me as a contact on Flickr and say hi.

    Thanks!

The Manhattan Bridge on-ramp in Manhattan is elevated over East Broadway. Looking at the image from GoogleMaps, it would seem to afford the image pictured above as East Broadway merges with Park Row and the Municipal Bldg. is visible in the background. More than likely the view is East Broadway between Catherine and Market Streets. That's my best guess.

Before my office moved, I enjoyed walking home from work. 23rd down fifth ave, through the park, then down either Thompson, Sullivan, or West Broadway. I found a lot of "oh I need to go here" places when I was new to the city.

Any ideas how the photo was taken - I initially thought perhaps a double-decker tour bus, but the perspective point seems a little higher.

Great photo. For a minute I thought they widened Mott Street and got rid of all the old restaurants that sold dog and horse meat.

Speaking of Sink holes, There has been one in the making in Brooklyn on Vernon Avenue Between Marcus Garvey Blvd. & Lewis Avenue for the past three years ! Calling the City informing them of this danger has yielded Temporary "Repair work" ! The damn street is still sinking down towards Marcus Garvey Blvd. ! Posted by; "Still Not Amused"
