As mentioned in Extra, Extra yesterday, 54-year-old Eunice Washington was killed when a livery cab driver ran over her - and it may have been on purpose. WCBS 2 had initially reported that the driver may have argued with Washington's 29-year-old daughter Santana over the fare, but now it turns out that the argument was more about the driver's rudeness.
Washington, her daughter, and her son got into a burgundy livery cab in the Cypress Hills section of Brooklyn around 4AM yesterday morning. The Daily News reports that the trio decided to take the cab because it would have been an hour wait for the bus. The cab's "driver told [Santana] to come up front and said he'd pay her when they got to his house" - as in, the driver was implying Santana was a prostitute. This angered the family, so they started to yell at him after getting out of the car. The driver then put his car into reverse, jumping the curb, and struck Washington.
Washington was dragged by the cab for many feet; she was pronounced dead at Brookdale University Hospital. She had worked as a cafeteria worker in the NYC public school system. Police are looking for the driver.

Cab driver's piss me off. Actually, the car service drivers are the worst because there isn't so much regulation. I get harassed all the time by them. Many of them have even asked me for my phone number. And it's not like I'm some drop dead gorgeous girl, I'm pretty average. I don't even dress provocativly.
Now this one has gone beyond harassment and killed someone. Do they just let anyone drive cabs?
Seriously, what is this world coming to? Hope they catch the animal who did this.
Apparently they do! I hope they get this guy and throw the book at him. Bastard!! Imagine what it would be like to watch your Mother get hit, dragged and die before your eyes. All over maybe a $20.00 cab ride?! Disgraceful!! My sympathies go out to the family….

I don't see how nationality has anything to do with it. The guy had no respect for women and no respect for life. That's an attitude that crosses all nationality and race lines, sadly.
And buses do run all night, but they come around less often after 2 AM. Sometimes once an hour or less.
Hey, maybe they were trying to skip on the fare.
Several possibilities here:
She was probably dressed like a ho.
The family misunderstood what he said.
They tried to beat him on the fare.
The driver could've put it in reverse accidentally, what with all the screaming at him. Probably wasn't intentional.
Not to mention that it's illegal for livery cabs to pick up fares on the street.
