August 19: 4th Annual Singapore Chili Crab Festival
This year's Tiger Beer Singapore Chili Crab Fest is in a new location in Long Island City. Get down and dirty with chili crabs and other Southeast Asian street food, watch martial artists and lion dancers and listen to live music. 12-6 p.m., Riverview, Long Island City. August 19: A Day A Whey -- Day Trip to Mecox Bay Dairy and Wolffer Estate Vineyards
Join Saxelby Cheesemongers on a day trip to the East End of Long Island. The day starts at Wolffer Estate Vineyards with a wine tasting brunch on their outdoor terrace, featuring six different Wolffer Estate wines paired with Mecox Bay Dairy cheeses, fresh fruits, greens, charcuterie, and breads. Next, the group will head out to Mecox Bay Dairy, where cheese maker and herdsman Art Ludlow will lead a tour of his farm, from milking parlor to cave. $95 tickets and more infomation available online
