Yes you have the pediphiles who pursue MANY young children. They generally don't chose just one. They go after several different children. They are online, driving around in cars, in the family, etc. However this guy in the news victimized one little girl over and over and over for four years. He didn't pursue other children.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when Americans are learning manners and morals from sitcoms. There are plenty of American born molesters. This is a deep rooted problem in America and most places discussing the effect of sexualizing beings before their time. We all wonder why Britney Spears lost her mind and why little pagent girls develop eating disorder. Because this girls were sexualized for AMERICANS and the media before it was appropriate.

I agree that many other countries have disgusting protocol towards women - I have seen 9 year old girls in Thailand being sold into prostitution for a refrigerator. But until we sit back and look at the dysfunction that is our own family(America) it is pretty hard to go out there and point the finger at other places.

In some parts of CHINA, they still kill little girl infants or abort them because they cost to much. In many ASIAN regions little girls and boys are solicited and used as prostitues. Some people implied that Imette St. Guillen was a snuff murder. It is alleged that certain Asian cultures and their pornagraphy are the go to place for snuff films.

These shows are on television to influence the culture or else there would be no restrictions on them. They are aired to maintain a status quo. Magazines, fashion, radio and TV are cultural tolls to teach a mass of people how things are going to be. No, tevelvision is not reality, however, the values are.
