August 11: Organic Harvest Celebration at Stone Ridge Orchard
Stone Ridge Orchard, the farm behind the Organic Schmorganic blog, is celebrating its inaugural harvest from its fifteen acres of certified organic farmland. August 13: Regional Mexican Dinner at Mercadito
This week, $30 per person buys you a taste of the Costa Del Golfo de Mexico(Gulf of Mexico), including Caldo Estilo Tabasco (shrimp broth, grilled shrimp, potato, chayote, carrots, cilantro oil), Tacos Estilo Veracruz (grilled wild stripped bass, black bean hash, salsa Veracruzana, crispy poblano) and Tampiquena Estilo Tamaulipas (Grilled skirt steak, roasted poblano rajas, guacamole, pinto bean hash, magi-lime chimichurri), plus dessert. Join Martin Johnson of the Joy of Cheese as he guides you through over a dozen cheeses to get you through the summer. 7 - 8:30, 10 Degrees, 121 St. Marks Place in the East Village. Admission the tasting is $30 and you pay for your drinks as you go. Reservations by email are required.
