Last Night's Action: It's Getting Wild

2006_04_syankeeslogo.jpg

  • Yankees 5 Toronto 4: There are 50 games left in the season and the Yankees have come back from the dead. 38-41 on July 1st, they have gone 24-9 to move 12-games over .500 and wipeout an 8-1/2 game deficit in the wild card standings.

Monday it was the “C+C Crew” again as Cabrera and Cano had four hits and three RBI’s between them as they continued their scorching hitting. Andy Pettitte just good enough, allowing three runs over 5 2/3 innings while Luis Vizcaino and Mariano Rivera pitched the last three innings to preserve the win.

The schedule gets much tougher from here with upcoming series with Cleveland, Detroit, Boston and Anaheim, but the Yankees are entering it with momentum. Now they just have to figure out how to keep it going.

  • Aberdeen 11 Brooklyn 5: The Cyclones couldn’t protect a 3-1 lead and Dillon Gee couldn’t get out of the fifth inning.
  • Staten Island 5 Hudson Valley 4: The Baby Bombers rallied for two runs in the ninth to win. Justin Snyder hit a home run with one out in the ninth to tie the game and Braedyn Pruitt doubled home Damon Sublett for the win.

shouldn't they be called The C & C Hitting Factory?

i think they need to play c&c music factory songs whenever they come up to bat.

Cano and Cabrera really have been stepping it up. Four in a row the yanks got the taste of victory and now its going to be harder to knock then out of the running for playoffs. Last time the Yankees didn’t make it to play offs was 1993 and hopefully it will stay that way! Never lost faith in my Yanks they have come from behind before and they are doing it again!

Once again the Jerkees play the weakest teams in the American League at the end of the year..big deal

They play Cleveland next for three games, then we'll see how tuff they really are

I agree with #5. Let's see how they do when they play a decent team. If they can take care of Cleveland and Boston I'll change my current opinion that the Yankees don't have the pitching to win the Division Series. Clemens is on the verge of going to the bullpen. When is Hughes coming back?

Mets fans have short term memory lost. Yankees swept the Indians earlier in the season.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeee don't let this "C & C Kids" thing catch on.

Christ, Michael kay sucks. H was practically forcing it down our thorats last night.

When did he become Chris Fucking Berman. Stop with the stupid nicknames, lame puns and go back to be an embarrassing, jock snifffing homer like every team has.

I'd rather listen to Joe Morgan prattle on about himself allnight on ESPN then have to be forced to put up with Kay
