Video of the Day: Remembering Tom Snyder

Tom Snyder died today, at age 71, after losing a long battle with leukemia. There are many videos with footage of his long career, because just about everyone wanted to talk to him (especially on "The Tomorrow Show" which aired after Johnny Carson in the '70s and '80s).

Throughout his career he interviewed Kiss, argued with Howard Stern and Cosell...and if you watch this video you'll see plenty of others who found themselves sitting across from him. John Lennon, Alfred Hitchcock, Johnny Rotten, Stephen Spielberg, Elton John, Muhammad Ali and Charles Manson are just a few.

The above is an old clip of him with Kaity Tong on Eyewitness News, where he alludes to another co-worker of his who just passed away last month, Joel Siegel.

    He will be missed.

I have fleeting childhood memories of him on Eyewitness News and loved his post-Letterman talk show. We should all raise a Colortini in his honour.

I can remember my personal discovery of Snyder when he backed up Letterman with The Late Late Show; a combination of class and crass that will be missed and may not be seen again. Thanks for the Colortinis, Tom.
