where does the grinder truck go? i need some knives sharpened :) thanks

That truck guy will grind your knives WAY too far down. That's what he did to one of mine. Stick to a specialty store where they know what they're doing.

I've seen it on the Upper West Side around 100th and West End.

91st St. is nice, and actually it would be great to see it left alone as a "vehicle-free" street. Bikes and cars kind of belong in the same place - away from pedestrians. However, it would be nice to see more bike lines physically separate from traffic (at the expense of cars.)

I'm pretty sure that photo is in Brooklyn - the knife grinder makes the rounds in several Brooklyn neighborhoods, although as far as I know he's not on a specific schedule (which always makes me wonder, if you wanted knives sharpened by this truck, would you just run out into the street waving your knives when you heard the bell?!)

I've seen the knife grinder in Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill a number of times.

Roseann Colletti can go to either D'Amico's in Carrol Gardens or McNulty's in the Village, either way, she can knock off early.

I think Porto Rico beats McNulty's for variety and quality. There should totally be a Gothamist best coffee award.

I would like to nominate the coffee at Mazola Bakery in Carroll Gardens. Their iced coffee gives just enough reason to get through the mornings.

I appreciate what ForgottenNY tries to do...but they really have one of the worst websites I've ever seen.
