Contest Alert: Björk Tickets!

Because she's probably the most imaginative artist in the mainstream, and has been for about 15 years!

I have been a Bjork fan for more than a decade and have never successful made it into her shows. If given the opportunity I would mouth along with every word(singing might annoy other concert goers) and perhaps even tear up during certain songs.

i want to see bjork because the last time i saw her my seat was so torturously bad i spent the entire show unable to see a thing except the ding-dongs in front of me who kept spilling their plastic cups of cheap white wine on me while doing what i think was supposed to be a synchronized middle-aged-white-person's dance but looked more like what i imagine two people's bodies would look like after they've both chugged half of a bottle of industrial strength carpet cleaner. please let me see bjork this time so that this time i can actually see bjork.

I want to see what animal she's wearing (and it's on my bday!)!

I want to see Bjork because when she bounces around on her little stocking feet she reminds me of my cat.

I would like to see Bjork because she's a damn freak, and I would love to be able to forgive her for participating in Drawing Restrain 9. A fantastic live show may help redeem her in my own mind. And I just moved to NY in June - this would be a lovely belated welcome!

To be in the same room as her incridible voice just once would be enough to die peacefully.

I really want to go to Iceland, but can't afford it at the moment, so going to see Bjork would be the next best thing!

the beginning of 00's...and finally caught on a few years ago
have never seen her in concert and now own all her albums (or is it cds'..or mp3's what is it being called these days)

and i think i need to learn my lesson once and for all the bjork is the best musical artist alive

i want to see bjork in the hopes that the email forward where she talks on the phone with puffy daddy about a collaboration is indicative of how she actually talks.

I'd like to see her because it'll be amazing with the Klaxons opening.

I want to see Bjork becuase the last time i saw her she played in New Orleans when i was living there before the hurricane. I went with a bunch of friends and we had such a good time. I also saw her in Idaho where i was born becuase her husband is from there and we went to the same school but i want to see her in costume on stage.

i want to see Björk sing that duet with antony at the garden...that's the magic!

I've wanted to catch Bjork live since I was 11 years old. The first time I heard her it was unbelievable. The amazing thing about her is not only her music but her visual sense. Her music videos (as well as her music) always break new ground and appeal to such a wide swath of people. Last night I was listening to some of her live music and was thinking about a review I read sometime back. She has never used a guitar in any of her music. A modern, popular musician and she's never used a guitar in any her tracks! If I was able to see her live it would be one of the best experiences in my life.

I want to see Bjork because I just moved here from Tennessee and Bjork has never heard of Tennessee.

I have a confession: I am not really a true Bjork fan (not yet, at least...) I've enjoyed her music, but haven't followed it religiously. Actually, I have been fancying a great guy for a while that absolutely LOVES her. Getting these tickets would go beyond just impressing him, but would help me understand what is it about her that he loves. I don't believe that taking him to the concert would make him fall for me, but it would be a great date none-the-less.

Help this gay guy dreams come true! Plus, I start grad school in a month (social work anyone?) and could use a break...

I would love to see Björk because I love her music and her unique style. Plus I'm unemployed and broke, so this would be a great treat for my girlfriend, who has always stood by me.

I admire the irony of Iceland as a country with remarkably little ice.

I also revel in how ironic it is that Bjork denounces all commercial exploits, while continuing to make (remarkably good) pop music.

She is also from Iceland, which makes her cool.

because i have lived in absence of Bjork for years only recently coming to understand and appreciate the magnificence that is her music. I think i would further come to understand and love her by being able to see a live performance

I would love to win tickets to see Bjork, because she is quite strange and beautiful, and I am too much of a poor ass to actually buy tickets. And I'm also interested in this trend of non-stadium acts playing MSG (i.e. White Stripes, etc.)...Can seeing these acts in a gigantor stadium be as good as a smaller venue, hmmmm? Its research, I tell you!

Please pick me to go see BJORK! I am her no. 2 fan, (because there is always someone more obsessed, more in love, more devoted, has more imported CDs, has worn her swan dress for Halloween) but no. 2 is just as important as no. 1.

Pick the underdog, there's not enough people that route for the underdogs and plus I’m a poor, ramen noodle eating, full time working for the non-profits, graduate student paying overpriced school tuition with freelance job on the weekend living in a small dank expensive apartment with no windows and bed bugs.

Don’t make me sell my eggs so that I may see Bjork for probably the last time, since she's getting old and probably wants to move back to Iceland before global warming melts her relatives away. PLEASE, give me this one thing, I never win anything!

Ok, so the reason I want the tickets is because my best friend is a Bjork look alike. And with these tickets we'll be able to pull a switcheroo. My friend will take over Bjork's life, and I'll get to be friends with Bjork. Which would be neat.

I've known this since I was 12 years old and I bought the sugarcubes tape here today, tomorrow, next week. I loved the song eat the menu. I still love it.

Tuesday is my 30th birthday and I think the greatest present Gothamist could give me is a pair of free tickets to see Bjork. I could relive the feeling of being 12 years old. How great would that be? pretty great, of course.

Because i've been wanting to watch her perform live since i was like 16yrs old, but it always sells out mega fast plus the tickets are so expensive.
This whole summer's been pretty crummy, stuck at work pretty much all the time. Going to her show would totally redeem my needing to stay in town and work and having to miss everything fun.

i work all the time and still have no money, i read gothamist daily and make my co workers do the same so i dont get in trouble for having the internet open. i need to get my girlfriend something for her birthday on wednesday, and quite frankly, i'm broke

PS: I don't really think she should be in the loony bin. I think she's a brilliant creative unique musician, and I admire her work very much. I was sad to have missed her at Radio City in May - I couldn't afford them, even if I could have gotten them tickets in time.

Because she changed the way I listened to music. I listen to her and my heart swells.

I would like the tickets because I spent the Radio City and Apollo shows listening through the walls. It would be my pleasure not to have to be demeaned by entitled hipsters for one night.

I want to see Bjork because she is my little Icelandic pixie that I keep in a cup called ipod. She has come to me only digitally on discs and through airwaves, alone and with Sugarcubes, and the opportunity to make her into something concrete would be undeniabley amazing.

I would not only LIKE to see Bjork, I would KILL to see her. Not literally, of course. I think Bjork is one of the few (if not, the ONLY) truly innovative artists of our time. Her voice speaks to me with such emotional vigor that it brings tears to my eyes. To experience it live would be a gift that I would never forget. I appreciate her music in all senses, I'm a musician myself and it completely baffles me how she comes up with these gorgeous vocal and instrumental scales/compositions. I'd love to see her because she touches me in places no musician has, she has the ability to make me feel cold, warm, scared, excited, and all other emotions just by singing one word. I'd love to see her because I have a passion for art and she is art in form. Bjork creates things unparalleled to anything played on the radio, or even off the radio for that matter. She is the reason my musicial threshold has been built up so much, she is the reason I listen to all the other incredibly talented and creative bands that I do. The first thing I do in the morning is play a Bjork song because she is so incredibly motivating. She gets me up and moving. I bet if you quizzed me on her I'd get all questions right. Well, I may miss a few because I don't keep OVER obsessive tabs on her life, but you get the picture. Bjork is the greatest thing to happen to music. Period. She is a gem and I need to see her before I die.

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM PAYING FOR A PLANE TICKET, HOTEL, AND ALL OTHER EXPENSES. I WOULD BE ON CLOUD 9 IF I WON THESE TICKETS.

How to stand out amongst the crowd of comments? I suppose It all comes down to the lyrics to 'all is full of love' which i have pinned up in my cube. It's a prayer, of sorts...and it gets me through my day

Because my friend is going to be a puppeteer for her new video... which is not necessarily a reason to want to see her, but it's less boring than the real reason (I just want to see her).

Finally, a Bjork show I can attend! Here's to hoping.

UGH to everyone who says they want to sing along at the top of their lungs. Go to the show to see your favourite musicians perform! Believe me, no one else wants to pay up the nose to hear you sing. You can sing along at home all you want, let the other people enjoy the show too!

I need this tickets to help convince my partner of three years that there are things he enjoys in New York. There are many reasons why he (not I) deserve these tickets, but the win-win of the situation is that if I convince you he should have them, I look like the best girlfriend ever. Here are the top three reasons why he should go to this show: A) He grew up in a small town, went to college in a small town, and has never been to a big show. Really. It's about time he experiences that. B) He loves Bjork, and I'm (please don't hate) a little annoyed by her voice. so his Bjork listening is mainly regulated to his iPod. C) He followed me to New York and has stuck by me, through the shit and his desperation to get back to the west coast. For that, free Bjork tickets is really the least I can do.
So sappy, yes, but I'm willing to get sappy if it could help to convince him that he should stay and love New York.
