The worst thing that happened here is that Spitzer Inc. actually managed to cast Bruno as a sympathetic character. Now this clown gets to live out his sunset years as a hero instead of being held accountable for crimes against the people of NYC. Spitzer just lost all his credibility and political capital.

Good grief, what a dolt. Isn't there enough on Bruno without going this route? God, I hate freaking Albany.

This kind of behavior is par for the course with Spitzer. As AG, all he would do was dig dirt until he could manufacture a damning press release and strongarm a settlement. He tries to do the same thing to a political enemy and it blows up in his face. 'Bout time.

I hope Cuomo (who I don't have any particular affection for) takes him out in the primary. Spitzer's the biggest disappointment of the '06 cycle.

As much as I love what Spitzer is doing in Albany, using the police to advance political causes is bad... very bad. Spitzer doesn't have an easy job. He has to be the good-guy and play tough at the same time. But if he wants to continue on the moral high-ground then he's got to make sure this type of crap doesn't happen again.

What a terrible political class we have in this country these days. I guess there's just too much money in private enterprise to attract the best people into politics. Or maybe our "elites" simply aren't getting basic ethical training at any level.

The only good news for Spitzer here is that this has happened very early in his reign, he has time to overcome this, learn from it, and regain people's trust. Then he can wait for his rivals to do something stupid, which they undoubtedly will, and try to take advantage of their screwup.

Doing.... Nothing..... really. Well except for the corruption.

Or maybe the voters will get smart and throw this thug out!

Doesn't matter what the political group gets in power, they all turn power mad and throw their weight around. Too bad its not for good but to cement their own politcal stronghold.
