The Siren Festival in Photos

Yesterday the annual Siren Festival at Coney Island took place. We'll have a full report tomorrow, for now check out some photos of the day (taken by contributer John Del Signore). The first five are most definitely not PETA-approved.

Brooklyn Vegan reports that people didn't leave their Harry Potter books at home yesterday. Looks like reading and writing were a favorite pastime between sets.

The Black Lips is a crap band anyway.

nice pics, but those chicken feathers are DISGUSTING. SARs anyone?

chicken feathers are gross, sars or no sars.
worse yet is chickenshit stuck on the chicken feathers.
and these something cheesy and freaky when there's costumed cartoon characters in a low rent amusement park. I believe dora the explorer was there this weekend and it looked cheesy.
The phillies fanatic at a phillies game is fun, this is just disturbing and almost sad.

It's been a long time coming, but I finally reached my hipster frustration tolerance limit when the girl with the Patty (Selma?) hair, carrying a dyed pink poodle, and accompanied by a friend dressed like a banana for no particular reason strolled by. At that point, I wished for the Cyclone collapse. I welcome the cleansing rain of gentrification.

Please, people who look like that have money and dont have to worry about gentrification-they will only benefit from it. They aren't poor at all.
