Pencil This In

2007_07_arts_court.jpgMUSIC: Courtney Love makes her return to the New York stage tonight for a little birthday celebration show at Hiro Ballroom. The rocker turned 43 on Monday of this week, and there's only one way to see if she's acting her age! Last time she got a little crazy at a suprise show at Plaid, and when she turned 40 she took a trip to Bellevue.

10pm // Hiro Ballroom [371 W 16th St] // Free with RSVP

If Court isn't your thing, we highly suggest heading to Pianos for the first night of Ford & Fitzroy's residency! The World Without Magic is opening for them, who we're guessing they met at our last Movable Hype show! Check out TWWM's performance here, and F&F's here.

Listen: The Weatherman's Refrain.mp3 - Ford & Fitzroy

8pm // Pianos [158 Ludlow St] // $8

MOVIE: Tonight is your last chance to catch Le Doulos on the big screen (for now). The 1962 Jean-Pierre Melville film noir is ending its run at the Film Forum, and being billed as both "a cool, classy treat for summer audiences" and "the film-geek event of the season!"

Various Times // Film Forum [209 West Houston St]

ART: Bill Harmon, the Vice-president of the Fort Greene Photography Organization recently passed away - tonight artists and friends will come together for a summer exhibition paying tribute to him. There will also be a closing reception on July 22nd from 2 to 5pm. More info here.

6:30 to 9pm // 858 Greene Ave // Free

COMEDY: Tonight spend "A Muthaf*ckin Evening with Nick Kroll Fabrice Fabrice!" The craft services coordinator for the hit TV show "That's So Raven" will enchant you with an evening of monologues, interviews, special guests and a hot pink thong.

8pm // UCB [307 W 26th St] // $5, limited tickets available at the door

THEATER: Nagle Jackson’s comedy The Quick-Change Room spoofs the turbulence faced by Russian artists struggling to make the transition from a state-sponsored theater to free-market capitalism. To get butts in seats, they decide to turn their production of Chekhov's Three Sisters into an American style musical titled O My Sister! (Presented by The York Shakespeare Company. For a good pre-show laugh, turn up the volume on your computer and immerse your consciousness in the transcendent waters of their Sci-Fi New Age website OF THE FUTURE!) - John Del Signore

8pm // 14th Street Y [344 E 14th Street @ 1st Avenue] // Tickets cost $15.
