Last Night's Action: Too Bad They Can't Share Offense

Yankees 14, Angels 9: First the haves. The Yankees plated 14 runs -- everyone had a hit and an RBI -- to defeat the nemesis Angels. Robinson Cano's missing third base didn't even come back to hurt them. More good news: Alex Rodriguez, back after a day off, had three hits, including a home run. The bad news: Andy Pettitte got rocked for the second straight start, and reliever Edwar Ramirez's couldn't extend his perfect Major League career. He did get the win in relief.

Astros 4, Mets 0: Now for the have-nots. Carlos Beltran doubled in the first inning, but he was the last Met to get to second base. Wandy Rodriguez took no prisoners the rest of the way in a four-hit shutout. Mike Pelfrey was decent through the first four innings but ended up allowing four runs in six innings. He could have allowed one run, and it wouldn't have made a difference.

Liberty 82, Shock 81 (OT): Detroit coach Bill Laimbeer called the game disgusting, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Liberty rallied against the defending champs and finished its road trip 2-2.

Brooklyn 9, Staten Island 3: Dylan Owen got plenty of run support and lasted five innings to improve to 3-0 on the season. J.R. Voyles had three hits in the win.

Does anyone else think the seventh inning stretch at Yankee Stadium is well........just plain weird.
