Strange Subway-to-Surface Assault Stopped by Witness

2007_07_subassaul.jpgA truly bizarre crime is reported in today's Post. Apparently a man took a passed-out woman from a subway platform and then tried to assault her in Nolita.

A 21-year-old woman had been passed on a bench at the Brooklyn Bridge station's platform. Around 5AM, Jasiri Walloe allegedly kissed and fondled the woman until an uptown 6 train pulled in. He then took the woman on the train (carrying her) and got out at Spring Street. From the Post:

Another rider grew suspicious and followed the two off the train. Walloe took the woman into a vestibule at 214 Mulberry St. where he removed her shorts and underwear, police said. He then fondled and molested her, waking her up, police said. Walloe allegedly began to bolt, but was caught a short distance away by police who had been called by the witness.
That's incredibly creepy. And thank goodness for the witness! The Post says Walloe was charged kidnapping and sexual abuse.

she's lucky, the last two drunken white girls didn't fare so well. and, there's one who's questionble drunk and still didn't fare so well when she talked back.

It's kinda like "they don't deserve to get raped" but If I were to wave a big wad of hundred dollar bills in the middle of Harlem Yelling "I'm Rich, your poor asses can't rob me!' and I get mugged, It's not my fault either, right?

Oh, in Harlem, how original. Because no one ever gets robbed anywhere else.

i'm glad the witness had the balls to follow them and call the cops. most people would sit there and watch.

Obviously she has no worthwhile friends to be on a platform alone and drunk. she should consider herself divinely lucky.

How sad that her friends were nowhere to be found - a perfect stranger looked after her well being. But hey, this can happen anywhere - someone needs to know their limits...and get some real friends. She is lucky....actually, come to think of it, she should read "Lucky".
