If you aren't at a BBQ, aren't watching the fireworks or a big budget summer movie...below are some options for you. Whatever you do, though, bring sparklers!
MUSIC: The New Pornographers and Midlake are playing a free show at Battery Park. If you didn't get a free pass, then go hang out on the outskirts, enjoy the day, and listen to the music - we're sure it'll be loud enough.

Puracane, De Novo Dahl and Ghosts I've Met are rocking Luna Lounge tonight right after the fireworks. Add it to your 4th 'o July agenda. De Novo Dahl usually wear striped outfits, so it'll be very patriotic! Sort of.

EVENT: Solar One is having a Fourth of July celebration. Enjoy an evening of fireworks, music (provided by Vic Thrill and the Saturn Missile), BBQ and films. "Humerous and insightful short films", to be exact. But first, some comedy will start the night off. More info here.

TRIVIA: Need a pre-game event for your night of fireworks...or just not feeling very patriotic? Come show off your knowledge at at Pete's Candy Store. Their Quiz Off is tonight and if you win...you get a $25 bar tab.

FIREWORKS: East Williamsburg has a lot of big roofs from which to watch the fireworks display. Luckily, 3rd Ward is welcoming all to theirs, so come and enjoy their cheap drink, food and view. Music is also promised.

And don't forget: there's always swimming in one of the many pools around the city - and the floating one opens today!
