Mrs. A-Rod's Cussing Style

2007_07_frod.JPGThe Post didn't shy away from printing a photograph of Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez with a blond stripper friend on a May cover, and they aren't shying away from showing Mrs. A-Rod, Cynthia Rodriguez, in an PG-13-rated shirt today!

Cynthia Rodriguez was spotted at Yankees Stadium wearing a white tank that said, on its back, "F--- You." The Post notes that she was sitting with her 2-year-old daughter and that many young fans saw the shirt. A spectator told the Post one father took his 10-year-old son away, "I mean this kid was right in back of Cynthia - his nose must have been about 4 inches away from the words 'F--- you.'" Well, considering how the Yankees are doing, we think most kids are getting a crash course on swear words.

But what's fascinating is that wearing such a saucy shirt may have violated Yankees Stadium policy.

The team's policy prohibits any banners or signs that are not in "good taste" and also warns that security guards will eject any guests "using foul language" or "making obscene gestures."

Still, when some fans let nearby security know about Cynthia's four-letter garment yesterday, nothing was done.

"It was noted by police and security," one fan said. "They were aware of it. I guess they didn't know what to do. I guess you don't kick A-Rod's wife out of the game."

No comment from the Boss, or other baseball wives. But we're willing to let Mrs. A-Rod get her anger out - and kudos for not pussyfooting around by getting an FCUK shirt.

Do you think Cynthia Rodriguez's shirt was funny or trashy? And PG-13 movies can have one swear word, but that's it.

i would normally say trashy, but with that font, it's clearly classy!

what a low class whore. seriously grow a set.

user-pic

Terrorists are doing their best to blow up Great Britain and a major New York newspaper is devoting it's front page to this garbage? Can someone seriously smack everyone at the Post in the head? Give me a break.

user-pic

She's one sexy classy MILF, that's for sure.

user-pic

#3 has good perspective but, lay off the Arods - they get a lot of shit just because. If you want to cover his performance as a player in the sports pages go ahead, otherwise there's no business covering their personal lives.

user-pic

She is not pretty. A-Rod could do much better. What the hell?

user-pic

#6 - apparently, A-Rod thinks so too.

user-pic

if she wants to be left alone and not embarrassed anymore- why wear this call to attention? what an idiot. they should have thrown her ass out like they would have if a teenage boy done this. tool.

Who the hell cares......honestly.

user-pic

A-Rod, call me!

Who the hell cares.....honestly.

user-pic

Who cares? You can see shirts just like this every day on every street in Manhattan.

user-pic

This is what happens when low class trash suddenly gets allot of money

user-pic

Seriously, why do you have to end every post with a question? Enough already. Just write.

user-pic

Yankee fans were offended?????
I think the kettle called.

Yet another fine example the Yankees are providing for the childrena and citizens of America. Good job, lowlifes.

user-pic

#3 is onto something, but if you want real perspective, think about the number of people dying every year of asthma or of car accidents.

The terrorist hype is just that, hype. We need cops and military to work to prevent terrorism and catch terrorists, but the amount of newplay "terrosism" like the recent events in the UK get are way out of proportion to their real impact on our lives. And, frankly, that plays right into the terrorists hands.

Sure, there are far more important issues in the world today, but consider for a moment the intelligence of a grown woman, the wife of a ballplayer, who makes this wardrobe choice before leaving the house. I mean, how primitive is her thinking?

As for the Stadium policies, is it a surprise that it is selecively enforced? I been to dozens of games where arrogant fans have been removed from their seats and escorted out by Yankee security and NYPD (have you noticed the large number of ex-Marine types circulating around the stadium with earpieces, scanning the crowd for miscreants). While many of those ejected clearly deserve the ejections, there are more than a few questionable calls. So, if Mrs. ARod were to be ejected for her objectionable wardrobe, what exactly do you think the Yankees' $70 million dollar third-baseman would do?

user-pic

I'm not exactly sure why she wore it, but I'm willing to bet she can't sit through a whole game without overhearing some loser make a joke about how A-Rod cheats on his wife, is a pussy, is a coke artist, etc, etc. With the way New York has treated A-Rod, she has every right to tell New Yorkers to fuck off.

user-pic

#19, beautifully said! I couldn't agree more. That couple gets dumped on all too often. Besides, we're actually supposed to believe that NEW YORKERS at the YANKEE game were actually OFFENDED by two words WRITTEN on the back of a tshirt? How about the THOUSANDS of drunk bastards CURSING and SCREAMING before, during and after every single ballgame? Nope, not offensive. But a tshirt? Oh, front page story. Please. Everyone is so quick to criticize. Considering everything, perhaps she picked the single most appropriate term in the English language for the back of that shirt. Let them live their lives and move on.

Trashy lady.

And what gives with all the guest comments being greyed out? Not cool.

She must have known she was sitting in front of the Post guy.

And Reality Czech, I love your stuff, but if you think things are any better at Shea (where I've heard fans curse out their own children... and in the expensive seats...) you're kidding yourself.

user-pic

She should just wear a t-shirt promoting the other team. She would make the same point with more humor, and avoid possible expulsion from the stadium.

user-pic

obviously, she's a piece of trash.

user-pic

#22, do you really think she was sitting behind the Post guy or the more likely scenario that someone sold their picture to the Post?

i prefer the guest comments to be greyed out as they're usually trolls.

edEx, did you ever notice the "hide guest comments" option right at the top of the comments? If you hate guest comments, go ahead and click on that. You'll never have to suffer the guests again and scrolling is a lot faster with fewer comments on the page. But if you don't want to hide them, then what use is it to see them in a nearly unreadable, eyestrain-inducing gray taking up space on the page? I really don't get it. It's like Gothamist is trying to drive away anyone who doesn't want to register. If they really want to do that, they should allow only registered users to post and forgo this pretense of letting the guests have their say.

user-pic

What a way to call attention to yourself. Old girl needs to really get a grip. I have two words: MELT DOWN!!!!!!

user-pic

I learned half my swear vocabulary as a child at Yankee Stadium. Hell, I remember entire sections chanting "F Steinbrenner" in the late 80's. No real ballpark is "kid friendly".

user-pic

definitely trashy, for a couple of reasons:

she's a mother herself, and she had to have known that there would be kids at the ballpark. i believe that there are plenty of parents out there who are trying to raise their children to be other than foul-mouthed, inarticulate morons, and stuff like this just makes it that much more difficult.

second, she demonstrated this disrespect to her fellow parents AT THE BALLPARK, where she's surrounded by people who ultimately HELP TO PAY HER HUSBAND'S SALARY.

if my kid and i were sitting behind this woman, THAT'S the part that would have galled me the most.
