DANCE: Since the Copacabana is closed for now, get your dance on under the night sky. WhatsUpNYC tells us that every Monday through July 23rd (though the NYC Parks site says through August 13th), the Parks and Rec department will conduct Dancing Under the Stars. Get dance lessons from the experts at American Ballroom Theater, then grab a partner and tear up the dancefloor.
6 to 7:30pm // Directions here // Free

MOVIES: It's a great double-feature at MoMA tonight as a kick-off to the MoMA Laffs series (that will run through September). "MoMA Laffs surveys the comic spirit in the Museum's film archive with an international selection covering eighty years of antic cinema—from films incorporating broadly physical humor to gems of mirthful understatement."
First up tonight is Airplane followed by The Dude himself in The Big Lebowski. We dare you to find a better way to spend the evening.
6:30pm and 8:30pm // MoMA [11 West 53 St] // $10, free with museum admission
READING: Those saucy Nerve.com writers are getting together tonight for a reading at McNally Robinson. Nick Antosca, Rachel Sherman, Tao Lin, and Nelly Reifler all have recently published (and highly praised) books that will make you laugh, cry, feel a little bit uncomfortable and, finally, laugh again.
7pm // McNally Robinson [52 Prince St] // Free
THEATER: Washing Machine is inspired by the mysterious true story of a 5 year old girl who drowned inside a laundromat washing machine in Chilhowie, Virginia in 2005. The one-woman show is said to be as “wondrous and whimsical” as it is grim. It’s set entirely inside the washing machine; as the wash cycles change the girl (played by Dana Berger) hallucinates, transforming into the various characters responsible for her death. – John Del Signore
8pm // The Chocolate Factory [5-49 49th Ave, LIC] // Tickets cost $15.
