THEATER: Italian master of satire and Nobel laureate Dario Fo’s play Accidental Death of an Anarchist has been reborn down in the East Village. Conceived in the politically repressive Italy of 1969, the story concerns the government’s abuse of power in the fight against terrorists. (Fo wrote it after a terrorist attack on the Banca Nazionale dell'Agricoltura in Milan.) Specifically, the play tells of the “accidental” death of an anarchist railway worker who “fell” from a police headquarters window. – John Del Signore

THEATER: Rachel Chavkin is the Artistic Director of the TEAM a physically zany company whose Particularly in the Heartland made a big splash at P.S.122 last spring. Chavkin’s lastest directorial endeavor is a gender-blending take on Chekhov's Uncle Vanya. The contemporary interpretation on Chekhov's portrait of country life features female performers in the roles of Vanya and Astrov, “highlighting the vulnerability and tenderness of their yearning for the unattainable Yelena, played by internationally acclaimed Finnish performer Marjo-Riikka Makela.” ENDS TONIGHT! – John Del Signore
