hillary is not a new yorker
I don't get the Florsheim/NY connection; according to the article, Florsheim was founded in Chicago.
Hillary has lived in NY State for several years. Has every NY Senator been a native New Yorker? Bobby Kennedy? Did people bitch him out as well?
So a 50-year-old who was born here but doesn't know the entire fucking story of Florsheim isn't a real New Yorker in Gothamist's eyes.
This must be the progressive open-mindedness we're so known for in this city.
Bobby Kennedy? Did people bitch him out as well?
Anyone that didn't want a carpetbagger Senator that was only using the seat as a springboard for future ambitions did.
It's one thing if you adopt a new home, live there for a time, and then enter politics. It's quite another for a career politician to adopt a new state to exploit the voters and a vacant seat.
Hillary's a career politician? Or do you mean Kennedy?
Weren't the Roosevelts (Theodore and FD) both from New York?
