Reverse Allowance as Mom Steals Daughter's Inheritance

cashmoney.jpgA mother will spend the next 15 weekends in jail and the following five years on probation as part of her sentencing for looting her 8-year-old daughter's inheritance. Stavon Simpson's daughter was left $186,000 by her father, a longtime city employee who died from lung cancer in 2005. While withdrawals were only supposed to be made on the daughter's behalf with a court order, her mother unilaterally withdrew $143,000 in order to buy furniture, pay household bills, and to purchase her boyfriend a $55,000 car.

The investigation of Simpson began after she complained to the city Employees Retirement System and to Surrogate's Court about a missing death benefit check.
Simpson narrowly avoided a 15-year sentence, instead of a 15-weekend sentence, by accepted a third degree grand larceny charge instead of the threatened second degree grand larceny charge. The bank that allowed her to withdraw the funds without the proper dual endorsement is repaying the balance to the eight-year-old girl.

The mom should get some real jail time, but only after the kid has graduated from college and is on her feet. The whole weekend jail thing is bs.

I wonder of the girl even knows what is going on -- and if anyone is going to tell her.

i hope she doesn't find out by googling her name 5 years from now - that will make for a very bitter teenager.

In an homage to our dependable little racist commenter, I'd just like to say that when this appears on Law & Order, they'll be white. Or are they already? Damn. Okay, then it will be the Dad who stole the inheritance, because it's politically incorrect to blame women. Yes....And, um, the daughter will be a grown man too, because real americans are sick of feeling sorry for babies. Get over it, you know? So the dad, see, is stealing money from another grown man, see, that was left to the grown man by his other dad, see?

Waitaminute.

Shoot, this game is harder than it looks.

This story made me miss *my* mom...

I'm glad the little girl gets her money back.

Well hey, She had to pay for her man's whip ! Every woman needs a man with an expensive ride ! I wonder how hard, & how many times her man had to "Pound" her ass into the headboard ? She brought him a $[55,000] whip, So it must have been gud . I'm happy the little girl gets her money back though . Good for the Courts for doing the right thing . Posted by; "Still Not Amused"
