- Researchers at Purdue University released a simulation of a plane crashing into World Trade Center, which shows that fireproofing material was stripped from the building as the planes crashed into them. Professor Christoph Hoffman told the AP, "One thing it does point out... is the absolute essential nature of fireproofing steel structures. This is something that wasn't done originally in the World Trade Center when it was built. It wasn't code at that time." The simulation was created to help engineers understand the collapse, which the Purdue team attributes to the lack of fireproofing and the fact that the fire knocked out support columns, causing the building to collapse under its own weight.

She accused the EPA of deliberately misleading the public about health risks, by reassuring the public that downtown air was safe in apartments and offices with dust in them when the EPA in reality had questionable methodology for testing the air. She criticized the Bush administration's handling but didn't mention anything about Giuliani's involvement, according to Newsday.
- And the fight over a World Trade Center victim's estate was heard in a Brooklyn courthouse. Elsie Goss-Caldwell claims her ex-husband Leon Caldwell is a deadbeat who does not deserve any part of the $2.9 million awarded after the death of their son Kenneth, who worked on the 102nd floor of the north tower. Yesterday, Goss-Caldwell told a judge, "While I was planning a memorial service, hoping they might find him trapped somewhere," she says Caldwell filed a death certificate with the victim's unit. Caldwell countered that Goss-Caldwell shut him out of their sons' lives after their divorce. The judge will decide what happens with the money, which has been in escrow, after the two sides file their arguments.

The simulation was not of the collapse, but rather of the plane hitting the building.

Fishing for a conspiracy? A building falls of its own accord and that's normal to you? Six fucking years after the fact and you people still amaze me.
In all due respect, What amazes me is that people ignore after six f______ years that, among other things, the debris of the Tower smashed into the base of the building...

The best comment I heard about 'the conspiracy' was, oddly, from Dennis Leary. He was talking about rosie o'donnell (in a highly respectful way) and then when the host mentioned the conspiracy stuff she was spouting he said the equivalent of "it's too bad that people get sucked into this. I met a bunch of guys though the show (rescue me) that were running away from building 7 when it fell. They told me that WTC 7 was dug out like a canoe (from the debris form the towers) and they all knew it was going to go down eventually."
What brought that building down can be explained scientifically, but your average conspiracy nut doesn't have time for petty things like science and enginerring. They've got better things to do. Like finish that sociology associates degree at the local community college. Equal time for wack-a-doos is killing the main stream media.

"...in oral histories, firefighters and commanders described retreating from No. 7 because of the expected collapse. Second, photographs taken from a police helicopter show that a large chunk of the bottom of the building had been destroyed by debris from the north tower; a comprehensive study by Popular Mechanics magazine concluded that along the bottom 10 floors, a quarter of the south face was knocked away...The pictures make clear that 7 World Trade Center was hit not, as Ms. O'Donnell said, ''by nothing,'' but by tons of falling debris. And although steel does not melt until it reaches 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit, federal investigators say that it loses most of its strength at around 1,800 degrees -- a temperature reached in ordinary building fires. A federal scientific investigation into the collapse of No. 7 is scheduled to be released this fall."
If you'd have seen the picture, you'd have seen what looked like a building made of Lincoln logs with half the bottom removed.
Well, I guess that now we must add the administration, engineers and scientists of Purdue University to the very, very long list of conspirators trying to fool the masses about what happened on 9/11.
