June 21-23: NYC Food Film Festival, Part 2

June 21-24: Staten Island Restaurant Week
In their first ever restaurant week, over 50 of Staten Island's restaurants have stepped up to the plate, offering $20.07 three course, prix fixe meals. The Staten Island Advance blog has the full list of participants.

June 24: First Annual Cheese Eating Contest
As part of this year's Smith Street Fair in Cobble Hill (being held from 11-6pm Sunday, Smith St from Bergen to Union), Smith & Vine is sponsoring Stinky Bklyn's first annual cheese eating contest. At stake is the "Big Cheese Title Belt." Twenty contestants will be given one minute to eat as much Cantal cheese as they can. The lactose intolerant need not apply. 2 p.m., 268 Smith Street between Sackett St. & Degraw St.
