COMEDY: Check out The 7:00 Workout tonight at UCB, where God's Pottery test out some new material on you. The show is listed as being at 6:30pm, which is just confusing - so, get there early? We interviewed the Christian duo last month, where they told us they'd only leave this fine city "if the Al Gore flooding movie is correct." So catch 'em while you can!

EVENT: Tonight Al Roker speaks at The Oxonian Society. Learn more about the Society here (and if you want to go, you'll have to register to find out where tonight's event takes place). The Society early evening events "see A-list guests present unedited views and commentary on a subject of their choosing; members and guests then engage with the invited speaker in Q&A dialogue. Members mingle and socialize before and after." Get ready to ask Roker some hard hitting weather questions.
6:45pm // TBD // $60
MOVIE: Drive in at the Rock began a four-night run last night. Tonight you can catch Arctic Tale, "an epic adventure that explores the vast world of the Great North. The film follows the walrus, Seela and the polar bear, Nanu, on their journey from birth to adolescence to maturity and parenthood in the frozen Arctic wilderness."

THEATER: The Potomac Theatre Project has been producing politically adventurous plays in the D.C. area for the past two decades; this summer they’re in New York presenting three early Anthony Minghella (The English Patient) plays and Howard Barker’s No End of Blame. The Minghella trio begins previews tonight with Cigarettes and Chocolate, about one woman’s abrupt vow of silence and the friends she mystifies; Hang Up, in which a long-distance relationship struggles through phone lines; and Truly, Madly Deeply; an excerpt from Minghella’s film which ponders, “In the time it takes to hop down a city block, could you reveal who you truly are to the person walking next to you?” – John Del Signore
8pm // Atlantic Theatre Stage 2 [330 W. 16 St.] // Tickets cost $18.
MUSIC: The Metropolitain Opera has been touring the parks to bring free performances to each neighborhood. Tonight they perform La Bohème (as long as the rain stays away), and this is the last time they'll be bringing the event to a New York park (though there are two more performances scheduled for NJ). More info here.
8pm // Cunningham Park, Queens // Free
Ages ago we interviewed Ensemble Pamplemousse, a Brooklyn bunch that blends new and old noises with sounds you've never heard. And tonight they're playing a show in Williamsburg that we suggest checking out. Promising "new electro + acoustic works", the troupe will certainly be delivering something a bit different! They also play Safe-T Gallery this Friday and Saturday.
8:30pm // MonkeyTown [58 N 3rd St] // $8 (+$10 food/drink min)
