THEATER: The Axis Company – the theater group that’s developed a cult following for the episodic Hospital, about the interior life of a man in a coma – is now offering a free glimpse of their work-in-progress play Buffalo Bill Combination. The group asserts that “our concept and understanding of the Wild West and our recent pioneer history was largely created live, on stage, in William Cody's circus. His Wild West Show was an unprecedented conglomeration of exhibitions concerning legendary frontier life for which audiences as early as 1875 were already nostalgic. In Cody's live show, Indians and soldiers who had participated in real frontier battles performed in staged versions of the incidents.” – John Del Signore
8pm // The Axis Theatre www.AxisCompany.org [One Sheridan Square] // (Call 212) 807-9300 to reserve tickets, which are free.
ART REMINDERS: Take this week to check out the Monet exhibit that will be closing on June 15th at Wildenstein & Company [19 E 64th St]. And don't forget the Museum Mile Festival is today!
