A Bronx woman was killed last night after refusing a ring and proposal of marriage from her live-in boyfriend. Will Vega and Yesmin Reyes could already be considered common-law spouses. They lived together with their twin 14-year-old daughters and one-year-old son. When Reyes found out that Vega had just fathered his second child outside of their relationship, however, she said she intended to leave him. He responded with an engagement ring and a proposal of marriage, to make their 17-year-long relationship official.
After Reyes refused the ring and the proposal, the pair went to bed, but started arguing in the middle of the night. That is when Vega stabbed the mother of three of his children four times, once in the neck. He then slashed his own throat, but it was an unsuccessful attempt at taking his own life. According to the New York Post, Reyes had already called the police when Vega was threatening her, but by the time they arrived it was too late.
Reyes' body was discovered by her 14-year-old daughters. She was holding their baby brother, who was covered in blood. Neighbors described often hearing Reyes and Vega argue loudly, but no domestic violence reports were ever filed according to police.

I known the twins since i was six because i went to school with them. Their mother was so nice and treated everyone nicely. Everytime i went to my friend's house i would see her with the twins and the little one. They also had a dog. When they told me this happen i felt so bad. But luckly they're living with their Grandmother now in New Jersey. I went to the building and i saw blood in the hallway it was awful. The apartment door was open and there were clothes everywhere. No one was able to enter because it was a crime scene. They were puerto rican and it's none of your business to critize them, I've known them longer than any of you and i'm only 14.
