We can't possibly choose only one music event for the weekend, so check out OhMyRockness for the jam packed weekend listings. We will say, however, that one of the openers for Snowden at Maxwell's tonight...is We Are Scientists, trying out some new tunes. Though closer to home are The Clientele and Beach House at Bowery Ballroom. Listen: Apple Orchard.mp3 - Beach House
THEATER: A mysterious little two-actor, umpteen character play called The Eaten Heart concludes its run this weekend, and we encourage you to order up before it’s 86’d. (Here's our review.) Set in a seedy roadside hotel, the brilliant Paul Thureen and Hannah Bos check in and out of a dozen or so eccentric characters hanging with their demons in lonely rooms. As engrossing as the acting is, the real star turns out to be the show’s design; sound, lighting, set and costume mesh deftly to immerse the audience in the sordid milieu of this peculiar hotel. (A special 11pm show has been added tonight; repeat attendees who bring a guest will be admitted gratis.) - John Del Signore
Friday // 8pm & 11pm // The Ontological Theater at St. Mark’s Church [131 E 10th St] // Tickets cost $17.
EVENT: The Gotham Girls Roller Derby starts off the season tonight with the Bronx Gridlock and the Queens of Pain bringing the...pain, in a derby rematch. The Bronx team was kept from advancing to the championships last year when the Queens ladies beat them..and they want revenge.
Friday // 7pm // Hunter College B3 Gym [Lexington Ave at 68th St] // $23
DEBATE: Nothing goes with a good 'ol debate like unlimited amounts of Dewar's! Right? Well, if it's a Vice Magazine debate, at least. Tonight "come watch three masters of attention span debate each other over as many different topics as possible." Debaters are Chelsea Peretti, A.D. Miles and Bobby Tisdale. Moderated by Toby Lawless. Intensified by complimentary Dewar's.
Friday // 9pm // Lost & Found [113 Franklin St, Greenpoint] // Free, rsvp to debate(a)viceland.com
BAGS FOR BEERS: Crumpler is offering up some of their bags if you bring them beer...it's the sale with ale! The NY Times warns it may get crazy over there, so keep in mind it will be running through the 17th of the month. Use the Beer Wheel on their website to determine what brand and quantity of beer you need to bring to acquire your dream bag. In case you were wondering, the beer goes to after-sale parties and is also donated - especially to art students for their openings. And yes, it's a misdemeanor to barter with booze.
Saturday through June 17th // 45 Spring St at 8th Ave
THEATER: Egyptian-American performance artist Rania Khalil’s Between the Shadows originally premiered last year at HERE; it’s back again for this weekend only. Drawing from the well of German Expressionism and Film Noir, the show is “an often playful, wordless exploration of war and apathy.” Khalil’s multi-media collection of vignettes blends physical theater, shadow/object puppetry and video with the help of three busy onstage performers. - John Del Signore
Saturday // 7pm // HERE Arts Center [145 Sixth Ave] // Tickets cost $15.
ART: Brooklyn's 4th Annual Atlantic Avenue Artwalk is this weekend, featuring over 175 artists, open studios, exhibits and art events. While not soaking up the art - take the opportunity to stop in Atlantic Ave's restaurants, shops and bars. And just like last year the Red Hook/Carroll Gardens Open Studio Weekend has coincided with Artwalk...so make that 275 participating artists!
Saturday and Sunday // 1 to 6pm // On and Around Atlantic Avenue - Spanning Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, and Downtown Brooklyn // Free

The following guests will also be in the house to assure you laugh the night away: Nick Kroll, Dave Hill, John Mulaney and Sean O'Connor.
Sunday // 8pm // Rififi/Cinema Classics [332 E 11th St] // $5
Our very own John Del Signore has neglected to mention his own play opens this weekend. We hear it's pretty amusing, so maybe you want to check it out. The Mercury Menifesto chronicles his time as a subway performer. The two-man, six-puppet play starts its run this Sunday at 8pm at the Brick Theater. More details here.
