I've got a question: Say that once upon a time I worked at the MTR. Isn't it an anachronism to list the new name on my resume? I didn't work at the Paley Center for Media. Oh, and it will always be the Pan Am Building.

I mean, I work there and I can tell you the name change does make sense. People come looking for a museum of TV artifacts, exhibitions, things like that, which isn't really what we do. They are trying to make it a place where people come together to discuss the media as well as watch it (in the library with the clips and programs), so calling it a "Center for Media" is probably a good idea. But I'll probably keeping calling it MTR, too :)

So it seems they are changing the name because tourists are too stupid to get it. Lovely.
