Brothers Bust Burglars

antiburglar.jpgTwo brothers in the Bronx managed to thwart a break-in at their home by armed burglars yesterday. Three armed men burst into an Edenwald family's home, shouting for its occupants to "Get the f– down". Two of the family's youngest members, brothers Edwin and Jose Rodriguez, managed to escape out windows. The older brother Jose, climbed out a rear window and fell, injuring his leg and hand. 12-year-old Edwin, however, ran across a roof and climbed down a tree with a cell phone and called police while taking refuge in an abandoned building.

The cops surrounded the Rodriguez home and a shootout with the burglars ensued. Two of the men were shot multiple times. All three were arrested. WABC's video of the story, including an interview with 12-year-old Edwin, is great.

They were shot multiple times and didn't die? Come on now. You know if those guys get out, they will commit more crimes. The police need to aim better.
