Because when you get hit by a Prius running a stop sign at 35 mph, massive internal bleeding and head trauma don't happen. But hey, you're such a better person because you're only putting out 60% of the CO2 as a regular car. I'm sure the polar bears will be happy they'll be extinct in 2040 instead of 2035.
