One of the funniest movies Nicolas Cage ever made, and a surprisingly touching one, had him cast as a Secret Service agent for a widowed First Lady played by Shirley MacClaine ("Guarding Tess"). "Mrs. Carlisle" wound up being kidnapped and buried alive by a pathetic employee, along with the guy's sister and brother-in-law. She was rescued alive after a frantic search. The movie was made about a year after Weinstein was rescued. I wonder if there was any connection.

We still remember that story - and listening to the news radio reporter interviewing him shortly after he was found.

Even after that ordeal, he came across as a strong person whose spirits could not be broken.

Wonder if his attackers now realize what they have done and feel any remorse?
