Yes, everybody may be impressed by the new WTC7, especially how green it is and how quickly it went up.
However, most New Yorkers are still wondering why WTC7 even collapsed in the first place and why the rubble (aka "evidence") disappeared so quickly.
In the words of Larry himself, "Pull it."
most New Yorkers are still wondering

Where are you getting your data from?
In your world... most = Gothamist-reading-liberal-L-train-riding-hipsters
Kevin, you are an idiot. Forces exerted at speeds and temperatures that you can't wrap your head around brought down that building. All of a sudden every liberal arts student in the country has a degree in structural engineering. I can't believe that you are a part of the future.
WTC7 came down for one reason, WTC north partially collapsed onto it rendering it an extreme danger. It was demolished in a controlled demolition after the trade centers fell.
Any other opinion is idiotic.
They just don't make Jews like Jesus anymore.
Congratulations! You own a 4.55 billion dollar asbestos sandbox!

I hope you're being sarcastic. In case you weren't, 7 WTC was on fire, fueled by the diesel supply for the building's emergency generators. The lobby had no columns meaning the weight of the building was transferred to the sides of the building via a truss. Fire weakened the truss, building collapsed - straight down. It's that simple. It's the same princple by which the Federal building in Oklahoma City partially collapsed. Bomb took out the front part of the building where most of the load was being supported by only a few large beams.
All of a sudden every liberal arts student in the country has a degree in structural engineering.
Funniest and most true thing on gothamist in weeks!!
Larry Silverstein was in on the whole thing. Just like Guiliani. He will take the secrets to his grave. That's what a buttload of $ can buy.
Oh, and believe what you want. Once you see the list of tenants in WTC7 you will realize the truth. Don't put anything past the US government. Especially when $ and oil and corporate interests are involved.
If you think Larry's a contented old Jew, you should see the ones who are secretly running this country (not just the financial markets). Worthy of a Michael Moore "documentary".

I know who was in the old 7 WTC. That proves nothing.
My favorite 9/11 myths: that the towers were constructed of steel reinforced concrete (they weren't), that the Empire State Building withstood a hit from a B-52 (which didn't exist in 1945. It was a 8-25 which is a fraction the size of a B-52 or a 767).
And the best one is that Neil Bush's demolition company placed the charges that brought down the towers.
wow. the comments get more racist and offensive everyday. yuck.
As someone who DIDN'T take a racist track with this posting and is actually interested in the building I wanted to say that I took the OHNY tour of 7WTC just before it opened and it really is a remarkable building. Silverstein deserves credit. The architect who lead the tour stressed how much LH demanded they take things a step further to enhance the building. There's a lot there a lot of people will probably never even notice. I'm sure the other buildings he develops will be great and add nicely to the NYC skyline.
regardless of the demo or collapse ( i was thinking of another building), the building caught fire beacause of the mega-ton collapse of the north tower... do you have any idea what kind of heat a collapse of that nature generates? on top of the fact that both north and south towers were blazing.
B-25 not 8-25
hey insider, you think jews control things? if that's true what makes you so weak and helpless? are jews conrolling the world you live in that much? are you that threatened by them? i doubt it. you just can't admit to yourself what a weak and miserable person you are so you find someone else to blame for your failures. the world can be a cruel and dark place but you're too weak to deal with it and do something about it so you take the easy way out you weakling.
"I remember getting a call from the, uh, fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, 'We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.' And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse." -Larry Silverstein
WMD=Israel.
"Larry is just a very shrewd businessman who happened to profit greatly from the thousands of lives perished at Ground Zero. SH!"
Why, because he recovered on insurance policies he'd been paying premiums on for years?
Google my name. Just do it.
The silence of the MSM on the matters that are really important is horrifying. I was in Berlin 2 years ago and spoke with an older german lady about her life and everything. She said one thing that still haunts me every time I turn on the TV thinking, hoping against hope, that they will start talking about the incredible power grab and expansion of the executive office that has happened over the last 6 years, the ignoring of the Constitution... Regarding the 1930s in Germany she told me they marginalized the opposition and any especially opposition media and "by the time most Germans knew that Fascism had replaced their government, it was too late."
is being anti-semitic and anti-Israel the new Red Bull and trucker hat phenomenon?

The BBC was talking about how the Salomon Brothers Building (a.k.a. WTC 7) was down. You can VERY clearly see it BEHIND THE NEWSCASTER'S HEAD, to the right.
Explain this.
You are saying that it is more likely that the BBC is in on this conspiracy than the newscasters misunderstood which building collapsed in the financial district on an insane and stressful day when many buildings collapsed?
I work in the Financial District and I don't know the Solomon building from the one that says Brown Brothers Harriman or the one with the Hickey Freidman and the outdoor cafe along side. But no, no, the Brits have to be in on it. there is no other logical solution.
It is very easy to believe you have won an argument when you assume what you intend to prove.
All I said was "explain this." No accusations were made. Nothing else was said except for literal facts (the clearly visible building and the content of their newscast).
It is very easy for YOU to assume there's an argument when YOU believe there is one.
Time for you to look in the mirror, chief.
You are right. You were not underpinning an argument about the cause of WTC7's destruction with a rhetorical question about a newscast on the day of the event. No one would ever make a connection like that. Unless. . . now bear with me . . . unless the argument you make is "implicit" (an adjective meaning implied rather than expressly stated). You might want to look that word up, and any other words in my post that you fail to understand.
Follow this for a second: In a hypothetical discussion about evolution v. creationism a person poses this question:
There are gaps in the fossil record. [Can you] explain this[?]
Is this person
a) a supporter of creationism
b) a supporter of evolution
c) an idiot
d) both a and c
answer: d. (a description of 'the future' ect. and the speaker share answer c and a taste for fallacious logic)
I look in the mirror every morning and I see a well dressed, well educated, highly paid, alpha mutha-f-n male. G-d damn, I am one sexy man.
Kevin, what exactly does "pull it" mean anyway? I guess you assume it means "blow it up with explosives". If that's what Silverstein meant he should have said so. It seems one could interpret that as "pull" the firemen out.
Kaboom, there were no firefighters in WTC7 to "pull"! Look it up.
Correct. And to "rig" WTC7 (the building) for demolition would NOT have been possible in such limited time available ON THAT DAY!!
Furthermore, the rigging of such a LARGE building whilst 'fires abound from within' is even more RIDICULOUS!!!
Speaking as an engineer, with any and all available data, then there is no doubt in mind whatsoever that this "PULL" (= an industry term) was "rigged prior", and hence said story STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN!!!!
Peace & Love to you all.
RE: THE JEWS.
i was raised IRISH CATHOLIC and recently became engaged to A JEW.
my observations on JEWISH CULTURE:
they adore their children and their families. very warm and huggy, NEVER send the oldsters to nursing homes but rather keep them close to home. they prize education far above material possessions such as new cars and homes. talk about issues and feelings rather than burying them. rarely drink alcohol or do drugs.
so...er...what's the problemo w/the Jews? i don't get it...educated, warm, loving, self aware people who aren't crippled by addictions and domestic abuse?
(people say Jews are cheap; i see that they are careful...i throw away food and my fiance gets mad. she should because i am being wasteful.)
my only complaint about the jews is that they never have enough alcohol at their family gatherings.
