No surprise that the most wealthy hoods, the ones with open wireless signals everywhere already are the ones offering access, see the big fat empty spaces on the map? thats where those who cannot afford good internet service live.
Some parks offer free computer labs and classes because many people cannot afford a computer in some of these hoods, opening up wireless access is the next logical step in those parks.

Well you have to start somewhere. I agree wholeheartedly -- the digital divide must be bridged. WiFi Salon is a major supporter of initiatives like One Laptop Per Child, and to bringing WiFi to the 27 CRCs -- Computer Resource Centers -- so that local residents could become more computer literate.
