- Mets 9 Milwaukee 1: The Mets made their case for the being the NL favorites with a decisive victory over the Brewers and a series win. Oliver Perez was masterful, taking a shutout into the ninth and Damion Easley had 4 RBI’s to pace New York. The Mets had more subs than regulars in the lineup, but still managed 14 hits.
- Seattle 2 Yankees 1: Where do you start with the questions? How about why is Bobby Abreu batting second when he is in the midst of a horrific slump? Or, why do the Yankees insist on bunching their lefty and righty hitters together, creating easy matchups for the opposing manager?
No matter what the answers are, the Yankees have problems. Sunday they didn’t show much at all in a loss to Seattle that dropped them two games below .500 and eight games behind the Red Sox. Roger Clemens may be on his way back, but will he arrive in time to save a team that is clearly floundering?

best in the nl? totally.
who is best in the al? well...not the yankees.
the chicago white sox are pretty great.
best in the NL?? Um no. Who is ahead of the Mets by a half a game in the NL East?? The Braves i do beleive
Anyone with half a brain who writes about sports would be able to see that Roger Clemens isn't about to "save" the Yankees. Newsflash: The pitching hasn't been the problem lately.
But I wouldn't expect some hack website like Gothamist to actually do some research or care about presenting proper facts. It sickens me that this crap site gets so much attention when it's a bunch of plagiarized posts and shitty analysis.
talk about best in the NL when the Mets actually take a series from the Braves... actually don't, just top talking sports altogether, it makes you look foolish gothamist(see gothamist's very wrong comments about how the BCS system works from this past bowl season)
First off, The Mets are "One" of the best teams in the N.L. ! Secondly, The Braves are playing good baseball right now and have been lucky to maintain first place in the division . It's just a matter of time before the Mets explode the way they did last year and go on one of them long win streaks . The Braves have no pitching after Hudson, & Smoltz . They know it and the rest of the league knows it ! What the Braves have is some good hitters in that line up, If they can get the needed production out of them then they will be in contention for a playoff spot .
