Drug companies will concede to the price caps in Canada

My impression is that many of the new drugs being pushed on TV ads are probably marginally effective, marginally necessary, and have a long list of unpleasant side effects. Drug companies know this and it would be better to accept caps and make some sales rather than make none.

This happens because the Canadians are willing to mine their ore and drill for oil and harvest their lumber.

Are you sure about this? My impression is that they are more protective of their resources than United States. For example, their equivalent of the National Park Services are mandated to protect and preserve their parks while in the US, they are also mandated to attract tourists to the sites.

I bet Canada will be thrilled to have an influx of whiny Americans that will wait approximately 5 minutes before telling them everything they are doing wrong. The irony of course is that most of the good things in Canada are only possible because they sit due north of a country 10 times their size in population that buys their natural resources. Drug companies will concede to the price caps in Canada because they know they can make a profit in the US and the extra sales to Canada reduces their costs of production. We are in effect subsidizing their medical system. And the more conservative western provinces of Canada pay more in taxes to Ottawa than they get back, a direct opposite to the US. This happens because the Canadians are willing to mine their ore and drill for oil and harvest their lumber. Are you going to move to Canada and whine about how they are "raping the environment"?
