David Blaine is the sexiest illusionist alive. People talk bad about him and for what? He is just doing his job as an entertainer. Do any of you watch television? It's all based on over-glorified situations and illusions. David is a magician. Would any of you be satisfied if he failed at one of his challenges? Would it satisfy you to get the chance to say, I told you so? Let's see some of you try to do anything that he does and be convincing. You couldn't do it. So leave David alone. He is amazing. And he's getting paid millions. It's called entertainment people. He is not crazy.

Steve Brodie DID make the jump. A dummy was NOT used. That is a popular myth. My friend, the late David Shulman of Brooklyn, studied this for many years and intended to write a book on the subject. He was the authority, and Shulman firmly believed that Brodie made the jump.

(#13) mythbuster I too watched that episode but it was not accurate and was only a hammer. If a larger object was to break the surface tension of the water it would work.(pepper in a glass of water trick once you break the tension with you finger the pepper falls to the bottom)

Lol, I did go there didn't I #[9] ! I'm not angry at this guy, It's just that his act is tired and worn-out . It's time to move on and do something with his life . Would you jump off any structure to prove that you could do it and survive ? I'm guessing you wouldn't, Why? Because you probably have better things to do with the free time you currently have . You probably thought to yourself, "Why the hell would anybody want too jump off a bridge into Cold, Murky, Dirty water in the first place" ? Because it's a cry for help is why . Finally, One of my co-workers told me she would do that to him . It was funny and I thought sharing it with you all would be "NICe" ; ' )

You clearly don't understand the nature of Blaine's eerie powers. No only is he able to turn his smoldering need for attention into cold hard cash with the snap of a finger, but he can also show you the reflection of Lincoln Center from a glistening sphere perched high atop the Brooklyn Bridge, which tells us more about ourselves and the universe than most of us are willing to admit. On the other hand, he could just be a cheesy one man reality show.

Well I say let him then, If he wants to take the risk of turning himself into a vegetable then go for it ! It's really sad to see a grown man try to act out silly moronic-childhood fantasies . To me, It's a serious cry for help that the people close to this "ass clown" haven't answered . He needs to find a good woman and "Perform" tricks and death defying stunts on her ! I'm pretty sure their are plenty of women out there that would love to pound this guy into the headrest of their beds !

Gee, anon, if he'd jump from the Golden Gate Bridge I would definitely not watch. But life brings me to the Brooklyn Bridge several times a week. If he must jump in Brooklyn, why not the Carroll Street Bridge? Surviving a plunge into the Gowanus Canal is at least as death-defying as a dive from Roebling's span.
