I used to work at the Tenement Museum, and am glad that these issues are finally being publicized through the media. In addition to the physical discomfort workers and visitors experience in poorly ventilated, dark and cramped spaces, the museum has been recently overbooking school/private group tours making it an overcrowded and unpleasant experience for everyone. The building is not wheelchair accessible or elderly-friendly. Also, if anyone came in on a weekend or holiday, they would find it a zoo. During such times, it would not be unusual that educators hardly get a lunch break (10-15 min) or no breaks at all in between tours. No wonder there's low morale and high turnover among its per diem educators who do not get paid time and a half for working weekends and/or holidays...

It has been and continues to be extremely frustrating and upsetting that these urgent issues regarding workers'/visitors' health, safety and well-being have yet to be taken seriously by the Museum's administration.
