Rocking Homes In Brooklyn

2007_05_arts_harringtons.jpgEver wonder how some of Brooklyn's finest rockers live? Design Sponge takes a look at Les Savy Fav frontman, Tim Harrington's Williamsburg apartment...and it's definitely not what we expected! Perhaps more surprising than finding out Adrian Grenier insulated his Brooklyn home with jeans, is that Harrington's got great style.

At least half of the credit goes to the Misses, Anna, who says of the unphotographed part of the apartment: "we have our DSQ office downstairs along with most of tim's records and, of course, his beloved video games." Together (after getting married) the couple started Deadly Squire. The company has some great patterns for their line, which includes everything from skateboards, pillows, ties and place mats. In fact, if you like their armchair fabric, you can buy yourself a pot holder in the same pattern.

2007_05_arts_deadlysquire.pngLast month, Harrington schooled everyone on making ceviche at The Brooklyn Kitchen, part of the book launch for I Like Food, Food Tastes Good. If this man can make ceviche, maybe there are more domestic rock stars out there than we originally thought.

More photos of the Harrington's apartment, here. Leaves us wondering how the rest of the Brooklyn rock world is living.

If this guy's a "rock star" then how come I have no idea who he is? What are these people, friends of yours?

that's okay #1, most people don't recognize the bass player from coldplay. you're hip. it's cool

Does insulating your house with old jeans work long term? I saw an article last week that said people that used straw had problems with bugs and mold. Bugs can't eat fiberglas

A man lives in that apartment?!! Wow! Either he is really in touch with his feminine side or his female companion COMPLETELY rules that turf (and they both have bad taste!).

I'm not sure what you mean, circle, but I was just saying that maybe the term "rock star" is being applied a bit too liberally here!

the point is, jen carlson is obsessed with becoming a hipster. OBSESSED. every post is about some "hipster" shit. its like how people who talk about money don't have it...

the apartment gives me a very swishy fey headache

I liked the flickr photoset. Very artsy-chic apartment. Sunny, neat, nice flora-fauna, etc. O.k, I'll take it! But minus the wailing, poopy baby that would surely ruin the entire aesthetic.
Oy Vey. :)

enough with the hipster articles! it's annoying. jen stop kissing their assses and being such a nerd.
