That first sip of wine after six painful hours of meetings is as liberating as loosening up your tie or slipping off your heels. After all, it’s not called happy hour for nothing. Throw in a good deal on top of it, whether it’s a buy one get one free or 50% off, and you may have one of the great pleasures of the work week. With so many deals all over the city, it’s almost enough motivation to end the workday a littler earlier. Say around 4pm. Unfortunately we can only have so many “doctor appointments” a week, so we have to be a little more selective with where we go. Here are some great deals that will help you unwind from Excel nightmares and Powerpoint malfunctions…

Where are your favorite places to kick back after a long day of pretending to look busy?

Rudy's - best place to be offered coke in the bathroom ... during the day.
haha still? Even with all the little kiddies that frequent that place now?
R BAR Meeker and Graham. $2 pints, buy one get one free 5-9 everyday.
I wish I had a place to pretend to look busy.
until then, I'm just a PIT. (professional internet troll)
Any BOGO places that start at Noon? What's the limit on the free dogs at Rudy's? I live 3 blocks north of there and never went there in the 18 years I've lived in HK.
I wish upon a bar.
When I get home, first thing I hit up is happy hour at Pete's Candy Store in Brooklyn, on Lorimer and Richardson, right near McCarren Park. $2 Brooklyn Lager and Yuengling, $2 well drinks, 4pm-7pm.
I guess it could almost be considered a nerd bar, but seriously unpretentious none the less. Housed inside a seriously old candy store, smoking patio out back, and a Quiz Off tonight!
agozar's half price deal is the bomb. their food is great and the sangria and mojitos are half price too. it's worth the trip downtown (if you're not there already)
When I want to relax after a crappy work week I go to Jake's Dilemma on 430 Amsterdam between West 80th and 81st Streets.
They have the best happy hour on Friday..
1/2 priced EVERYTHING from 5 PM until 8 PM
Happy Drinking!
