As I recall, Silver kept Michael Boxley on staff even after he had repeatedly raped a subordinate. Somehow the victim received a half million dollars in tax money and the charges were mysteriously reduced to "sexual misconduct." Cole seems like an idiot, but the idea of Silver lecturing anyone is a joke.

This was certainly a borderline sleazy, defintely juvenile, and extremely stupid thing for an elected official--or any married man--to do. Given the state of ethics, or lack thereof, in the state legislature, however, I can only imagine the howls of laughter this must elicit behind closed doors in Albany. The follow-up punchline being "I didn't even know we HAD an ethics panel!" [more laughter]
