It sure is great to see the total lack of intellect on this post. Children engaged in a serious car accident and most of the people here have posted derogatory remarks and hateful words. They're innocent children hurt by a repeat offender with no regard for human life. His prison life will consist of daily beatings. People who hurt children do not fare well in prison. And then there's always that post (#3) complaining about city funds and wasting money... #3 you're wasting the precious air we breath.

The Mayor has no comment on this incident. Guess he does not care about retards. Only two students returned to school today, some of them were injured badly and still in the hospital. Again, the mayor does not care about injured retards. Where's the mayor in this?

that chewing food analogy is so idiotic - IT ISN'T DANGEROUS TO OTHERS TO CHEW YOUR FOOD FAST OR SWALLOW NUTRIENT PILLS! the fact of the matter is cars are very dangerous at high speeds -THAT'S WHY WE HAVE SPEED LIMITS! people usually (though often do)don't buy cars for speeding. they generally buy cars to get around EINSTEN. people who speed when and where it's dangerous to others are people who have no regard for other people's lives (nor their own). the government DOES trust people enough to give them cars that travel well over the speed limit which causes ACCIDENTS and DEATHS. you mean you wouldn't give up the capability to speed in a car if you knew it would save countless lives Danio3834?

Why do we still chew our food when we have the technology to make it in an easy to swallow nutrient pill? That comment that you referred to completely negates why people strive to own a car, or at least an enjoyable car. Would life really be worth saving if people couldnt enjoy a little speed in their automobiles? Luckily the government still enables its citizens with a little trust that they dont endanger ppls lives, with fear of consequence of course.

Dear otomboy, 'Short Bus' is not a derogatory term, it's what these buses are actually called. Also, short buses are not used only for busing 'special needs' (please stop using the term 'retarded') children, it is simply what they are more commonly known as being used for. This probably due to the fact that most special needs children are not bused on regular buses due to different schedules at school and due to regulations around necessary adult supervision ratios), and since there are usually smaller amounts of special needs children in any given geographic area, school districts decide to save on gas consumption and use a smaller, lighter bus, which are called 'short buses'. So please don't accuse me of your own prejudices.

If cars going at high speeds are dangerous (and of course high speed car chases are dangerous) why is it legal for cars that travel above speed limits to be manufactured and sold? Why isn't there a law against this? This would save countless lives.
