OK, Grammar Nazi, you want to play this game? First of all, you are just rude. There is a way to make suggestions and corrections, and insulting the writer is hardly the most constructive way to do that. All you have really accomplished is make yourself look like an asshole, and you've done a remarkable job at that. Second, if you are a self-professed grammar know-it-all, why on earth do you expect to have any credibility when what you said regarding hyphens is subjective in the first case (a hyphen after "semi" is optional, not wrong) and just plain erroneous in the second ("nerd out" would never need a hyphen, nor would "walk out," "strike out," "flip out," "rock out," etc.)? Finally, why are you asking "Dear god" to stay awake in English 101? I think I know what you mean, but your construction of this sentence is ambiguous. You have some work to do on your own grammar, and a whole semester's worth of civility to learn.

Jen, are you an ESL student? Presently I find myself in awe of your complete disregard for the most basic rules of engrish (sic)usage. Do you realize that you hyphenated a word (semisubmersible) that does not need a hyphen and failed to hyphenate "nerd out", which clearly needs a hyphen? Do you realize that these two words were right next to each other ? Dear god, please, will you please go back to school and try to stay awake during English 101 this time? Finally, this ship is not "sinking" the New York Harbor but instead is sinking into it. You are dumb.
