"We have a feeling most people we know will stick to reading the Post either online or over someone's shoulder on the train." I'd be ashamed if most people I knew even read the Post. And yes, the Post has always cost more outside of the Greater NYC area.

I have seen copies of The Post in the past few weeks saying it was "Only 75¢" however, I think it was in New Jersey somewhere.

Why does anyone pay for the paper these days? The Times is so biased it is making Fox News look good. At least Fox News invites the opposition onto their shows. I'll read the Times online but I sure as hell won't pay for it.

As a good lefty New Yorker, I felt guilty even giving a quarter to support the Post's ridiculously conservative editorial page. But, sometimes if I was headed to the subway without my usual reading material (Times, New Yorker, etc.), I admit I bought the post. Phew, now that its back up to 50 cents, it evens up with the more reasonable Daily News. Guilt be gone!

The Post is extremely entertaining and definitely worth a quarter... but not 50 cents. If there isn't a story, then they'll make one up (see the EXCLUSIVE last year: BIN LADEN COKE PLOT). This is journalism at its finest.

i only occasionally read the post cause it was the cheapest one when I couldn't find a AMny or Metro free paper around. They had to lower the price of NY post to 25 cents cause no one bought the paper. Now that it's back to 50 cents everyone will go back to the Daily news. It's called internet news on your cellphone people. Newspapers suck now.

Of course, readers of the "Post" and the "Daily News" are not loyal to the price of the paper, but to its editorial content. Each paper has its own loyal hometown demographic based on class, ethnicity, and geography, who do not consider the papers interchangeable.

$50, $25, free--who cares! Both of those papers are horrible rags that should go away.
