- The $250 nine course tasting menu at Per Se is the caloric equivalent of 4 and a half Big Macs, although we imagine infinitely more delicious. A prost-prandial stroll would have to be 31 miles long to walk it all off.
- Curbed reports that the former Jehovah's Witness Building in Brooklyn Bridge Park is getting the borough's first Trader Joe's.
- Brooklyn blogger and bicyclst eefers relates that she was nearly run down by a red light-running police car. When she physically indicated her displeasure at nearly being another bicyclist casualty of New York's traffic, one of the officers hurled her paper cup at her before the partners sped off. Rude certainly, but we imagine some citizens have endured worse.
- Appreciators can now purchase prints of artist Noah Kalina's "everyday" project, which are digital self-portraits taken every day for six years.
- It may do a body good, but milk will also slim your wallet. The price of a gallon of milk is rising to $3.54––up $.60 over the price a year ago.

perfect timing for the Per Se menu as there's a 32-mile walk scheduled for this saturday. see www.greatsaunter.org
Another person was killed by the subway, another reason we should completely shut down the subway. Just like we did to the trams.
anyone who buys a print of a digital photo of that dude for 50 bucks deserves to be kicked.
nick, i think you are wrong.
Noah is an incredible artist. He is now showing all over the world. That $50 deal sounds like a steal.
Irate bourgeois, blogging, boo hoo bicyclists do not gain my sympathy. Police cars always have the right of way... anyone with any street smarts knows that. She's lucky she wasn't ticketed.
You have to have "street smarts" to know that the cops can't be bothered to obey the traffic laws? WTF
I'm lucky I wasn't ticketed for riding my bike through a green light?
Heaven forbid the cops were racing to a real crime. They might have been frustrated that you were upset, even though nothing happened, and some woman was getting beat by her husband a few moments longer cause you made them slow down. Dont ever assume you are always right, just feel lucky you werent hit and let it go.
If they were racing to a real crime, I imagine if they didn't have their lights on they'd at least have had their _head_ lights on. And they sure did have time to stop at McDonald's...
#1 ha!
#3 first, people can spend their money as they see fit and second, good for noah to make a little money off 6 years of his work.
#6 that's not the point - there could have been a serious accident, and then they were completely disrespectful on top of it.
Yeah.. so the cops were in the wrong. So what? The have the authority to be in the wrong. They have the authority to run red lights. Like it or no, that's a fact.
Why this is of interest to anyone else but yourself is beyond me... that was my point really, and I should have clearer about that.
#11 The cops certainly do not have the authority to be in the wrong or illegally run red lights. They ABUSE their authority when they illegally run red lights or exploit the public trust.
If you believe otherwise, you should seriously consider moving to some third world dictatorship.
A New York blogger ought to know how to spell Bleecker Street.
