Last Night's Action: Is This Rock Bottom?

  • Red Sox 11 Yankees 4: Just how bad is it going to get in Yankeeland? Not only are they in last place, five games under .500 and losers of seven-straight, but also there are reports that the Dolans are trying to buy the team.

Their starting pitching is completely broken and Mariano Rivera can’t get an out. The offense is now slumping and the bullpen imploding from overuse. Steinbrenner is reportedly ready to fire Joe if they are swept by Boston. Jeff Karstens takes the hill today, gulp.

  • Nets 102 Raptors 89: Vince Carter had 37 points and the Nets built a 19-point halftime lead before cruising to the win. Game Four is Sunday night.
  • Washington 4 Mets 3: Oliver Perez gave up the first runs the Nationals have scored in the first inning all year on an Austin Kearns three-run homer. He settled down and struck out nine, but the Mets left the tying run on second with no outs in the eighth.
  • Sabres 3 Rangers 2: New York actually had control of this game before surrendering the tying goal right at the start of the third period. Buffalo took a 2-0 lead in the series and the Rangers have to win Sunday.
